signed G.S. Gilbert, lower right, with inscribed dedication to John Bettesworth-Trevanion (1780-1840), lower margin.
5 3/4 x 9 inches.
Bettesworth-Trevanion was a Cornish politician and the heir of the Caerhays estate, where he rebuilt the house as a Gothic-style castle designed by John Nash (1752-1833) between 1807 and 1810.

Framed: 13 x 15 1/4 inches.In overall good and stable condition. Sheet with castle affixed to sheet with crest and inscription, which is further reinforced with paperboard backing. Overall toning to both sheets, with embrittlement to edges and repaired tears to lower left corner. Pinholes to all four corners.
